Technical Bulletin: Approaches for Assessing Emissions from Continuous & Drop Operations

The Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks is posting a draft Technical Bulletin regarding approaches for assessing emissions from continuous and batch material drop operations. Continuous and batch material drop sources are activities in which material is dropped, resulting in fugitive dust emissions. Batch material drop activities become a potential source of emissions during discrete material transfer events, such as unloading material from a delivery truck into a storage bin. Continuous material drop activities become a potential source of emissions during ongoing operations, such as transferring material from a conveyer onto a storage pile.

Fugitive dust is a contaminant under the Environmental Protect Act, and the ministry frequently receives dust complaints related to aggregate sector operations.
