While I respect the need to take action to improve the Canadian economy and lessen our reliance on the US, we cannot let fear override careful thought. This proposal is too broad. Meaningful consultation and consensus must be reached with indigenous people. We can’t keep repeating the mistakes in the past. We also need to preserve Canada’s essence by providing more protections for wilderness and wildlife that can’t speak for themselves. I imagine most of the population will not even consider what this means long term. What can be destroyed in a day could take hundreds of years to restore- even if that’s allowed to happen. Slow down please.
