The changes being implemented are consistent with the objectives of the Forest Management Plan (FMP). However, an important area for improvement is the preparation and follow-up of silviculture activities in harvested areas. At present, many “free-to-grow” areas receive limited or no silvicultural tending, and this approach should be re-evaluated to ensure long-term forest health and productivity.
Additionally, the movement patterns of large wildlife species must be properly acknowledged. Harvest-related disturbances that alter or impede these movements should be identified, monitored, and addressed through appropriate mitigation and restoration measures.
