Hello, my name is Rick Sultana and I am the owner/operator of a registered scrap tire hauling company called Dependable Cartage and Disposal..I have been in contact with several organizations that are involved in the current tire recycling system EG. OTDA, RPRA, Etracks and others..I have been servicing my customer's, mostly auto repair shops and dealers faithfully for 15 years..most of them are very loyal customer's that call me when they need their tires picked up for disposal..unfortunately with these restrictions that we have been facing, I'm unable to pickup their tires and am facing either closing my business or looking into other materials to dispose of instead of tires..I hope that these amendments that are being proposed will get these restrictions lifted and the smaller haulers like me back to work..I know there are a lot of people illegally poaching my customer's tires for either export of resale that I have to compete with and if I can't pickup their tires they will have no choice but to find someone who can..it seems that some of the larger companies are still operating and still picking up tires because I ask the shops if they are getting their tires picked up..I'm not sure how Etracks picks who can deliver tires into the processors and who can't or if these companies have storage capabilities that the smaller companies like mine don't have but a lot of us won't be able to operate if these changes don't get resolved very soon..most of my customers don't have the space to store 100's of tires especially at tire changeover seasons like we are in at the moment..I will have to start looking for storage facilities for their tires if this lasts much longer and I will be forced to start charging my customer's that need to get the tires taken off their sites and that will create even more backlogs of tires to be processed. The processor that I have been going to for a long time can't let me deliver any tires for all of April and not even sure about May yet..the proposed changes need to be completed as soon as possible or more and more companies will be closing and more people out of work.
