I am wholly and completely opposed to plan. Not only is this the end of any potential growth in Douro, but there are some very shady things on here. Why is the farm at Lot 4 Concession 8, which was recently purchased by Chinese landlords the only "Rural" designation in my neighbourhood? This plan does not represent the land here. Ask any farmer around. Basically, almost all of Douro is being considered as Prime Agricultural. I live on an abandoned aggregate. I literally can’t grow a tomato plant without bringing in soil. What does this mean? It means that the projected growth over the next 25 years is 600 people. No new PG Towns - that wouldn’t be permitted. No new lots for people to keep the family farm in business. No new ways to grow our business (including no new builds to install kitchens.) Douro for my generation is over.
