My property at 380 Douro Seventh Line is a defunct aggregate that has been rehabilitated through the MAAP program in 2021. The sweeping changes of the Township of Douro-Dummer as Prime Agricultural does not reflect the actual land. Not only does my land not grow food, and likely never will, I am questioning why the ACTUAL farm next to my property at 503 County Rd. 4 is not being designated as Prime Agricultural, but maintained as RU. This farm was purchased by Chinese owners, who do not live on the property, 2 years ago. Something is very suspect about this. I would like my land to be removed from the Prime Agricultural designation to allow for me to sever a lot for my children in the future. Why my adjoining land, or any one acre of land on County Rd. 4 would qualify as prime agricultural, factoring in salt and traffic issues with tractor trailers, let alone getting into the rocky soil quality in Douro-Dummer is beyond me; and it seems exceptions were made already for one of the oldest farms in the area, which a FOI request should be able to clarify, without the knowledge of the locals who live and farm here.
