I do not feel this act is being put forth in good faith. The introduction of this proposal mentions streamlining the process of species protection, however the bulk of the proposed changes seem to be reducing protected areas faster than before (by 10 years!) and allowing early access for mining companies. Adding in the statement as long as the fix what they destroy is not enough. The world wide amount of habitat lose and extinction is mind blowing. Canada should be setting the bar for these protections not cuttting them back. This proposed amendment does not respect the spirit of the initial act or the will of most Canadians.
