Sajecki Planning Inc. has been actively engaged in the City of Mississauga Official Plan Review process, providing comments on behalf of our clients, including BGO (previously BentallGreenOak). BGO operates a global investment management platform and integrated development services business with a client investment portfolio comprised of retail, office, industrial, and rental multi-family residential assets. BGO currently operates 16 properties across Mississauga with $1.1 billion of current investment in the City.
The attached letter is the latest comment letter submitted to the City of Mississauga Planning and Development Committee relating to the proposed Mississauga Official Plan 2051 which was considered by the Committee on March 24, 2025, and adopted by City Council on April 16, 2025. Key amongst BGO’s concerns with the Mississauga Official Plan 2051 as adopted are as follows:
• Non-residential (replacement) requirements impacting the financial feasibility of redevelopment
• Maximum FSI provisions on Mixed Use Sites in Neighbourhoods (on sites over 1 ha in size) limiting opportunities for context-appropriate intensification
