Any changes to existing laws should not happen without relevant and current scientific documentation and data supporting the humaneness and necessity of proposed practices. Regulatory ease or trapper convenience are secondary to animal welfare concerns. Laws must prioritize animal welfare and not use expediency or industry financial gain as reasons to make legal changes.
