Beavers are an integral part of our ecosystem. As a biologist and veterinarian I am strongly opposed to these changes in regulations that allow more beavers to be killed.
The general public is much more aware of the sensitive interconnectedness of our ecosystems and it is disappointing to see that this awareness is not recognized by the Wildlife Section of the Ministry of Natural Resources.
The time has long passed when our precious wildlife should be classified as a "resource".
