The citizens of Douro Dummer…

The citizens of Douro Dummer DO NOT want to be absorbed into a neighboring community! We are rich in history and want to preserve our own identity. We support our Mayor and Councillors who liver in the community with us and support our efforts to build our strong municipality.

The current plan allows for no growth around the settlement areas, no farm severances and only a minuscule amount of growth over the next 25 years in Douro Dummer. It looks like political maneuvering by the County council to provide the city of Peterborough easier access to absorb our municipality for their growth needs.

Caven has been allowed the lions share of growth because they have challenged Peterborough's tactics to take them over. Give Douro Dummer a larger share of growth so we have a fighting chance to maintain our own proud municipal identity!
