These proposed changes need to be considered through a climate change lens. The extreme temperature fluctuations, the severe drought/ rain events will have impacts on watersheds and habitats for the red dace. Conservation needs to be strengthened on the side of the planet not profit.
Barn Swallows need barns as part of their natural breeding/reproductive cycle. They cannot nest at Costco . Building more barns and supporting farmlands would be more supportive.
Reducing protection of species at risk does not reduce their vulnerability.
Consider administrative streamlining that profits the planet first.
Using trails for mining invites more environmental destruction. Consider using Indigenous ways for entering sensitive areas to reduce impact. Or use existing wildlife traffic corridors.
Much of mining activity disturbs peat which just exacerbates global warming ( see David Suzuki)
Have you considered the cost saving/ risk benefit of saving vast tracks to mitigate climate change flooding and seasonal drought/wildfire cycles?
