There is no scientifically sound reason to further limit our ability to protect species at risk, especially not one that is facing imminent extinction or extirpation like the Redside dace. Ontario's own website states that this minnow is most threatened by urban development and it is very apparent that the current provincial government lead by Doug Ford is trying to make this exact kind of urban development easier in places that are known dace habitat and places that should be protected for future reintroductions. Reintroductions that could make the difference between this precious Canadian species going extinct or not.
