The subject lands are located on Stewart Lake (Lots 14 & 15 Plan M245), approximately 6.7 kilometres north of the unorganized Community of Hurkett, and roughly 6.5 kilometres north of the Township of Dorion. Access to the subject land is by Stewart Lake Road, which is partially maintained by the Stirling Local Roads Board and then a 0.6 km portion which is privately maintained by users.

The application for consent 58-C-252597 was draft approved on March 24, 2026 subject to conditions.
The application was reviewed for consistency with the environmental policies of the Provincial Planning Statement (e.g. natural heritage, water quality protection). No public comments were received for this application.
Conditions include a registered plan of survey and inspection from the local health unit.
The decision to approve the consent is consistent with the Provincial Planning Statement once conditions are met. This decision will not have a significant impact on the environment.
The applicants have two years to satisfy conditions of draft approval, otherwise approval will lapse. The approval can be appealed using the procedure outlined below. Notice to appeal the decision to the Ontario Land Tribunal must be filed with the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing on or before April 13, 2026.

Proposed application 58-C-252597 is for a lot addition to readjust lot lines after a garage was inadvertently built over the property line.
The proposed lot addition will add approximately 7.5 m in width, 25 metres in depth, with an overall area of 0.018 hectares from Lot 15 to Lot 14 on Plan M245. Both lots are approximately 0.35 hectares in area. There are existing buildings and servicing on both of the lots currently. No other changes are proposed.
The effect of this application is to readjust lot lines to accommodate an existing garage building.
