We have granted approval for Thunder Bay Pulp and Paper Inc. (formerly Resolute FP Canada Inc.) located in Thunder Bay, Ontario, to amend their existing registration under the Technical Standards Registry – Air Pollution. This facility will adhere to all technical and operational requirements in the Pulp and Paper – Industry Standard.
On January 29, 2024, we amended the Species at Risk in Ontario List to reflect new species at risk classifications set out in the 2022 Annual Report of the Committee on the Status of Species at Risk in Ontario. This is required by the Endangered Species Act, 2007.
The proposed work program on the Griffith Quarry Project would be trenching and a bulk sampling program removing no more than 1000 tonnes, keeping the project below the threshold of advanced exploration. The location of the bulk sample is in a previously disturbed area where historic stripping and sampling has occurred.
