This proposal is for an amendment to the Limited Operational Flexibility for an Environmental Compliance Approval (air & noise) No. 4150-DQAMDD for CRH Canada Group Inc., a cement production facility, located in the City of Mississauga, Ontario.
The amendment includes the use of Alternative Low Carbon Fuels (ALCF) and supporting baghouse controls for the Kiln systems.
The emissions sources from the manufacturing and associated process that discharge to the air include raw material transfer/delivery, cement manufacturing, clinker manufacturing, fuel preparation and storage, bulk loading, and ancillary operations.
Emissions to the air from this facility include:
- benzene
- nickel
- nitrogen oxides
- sulphur dioxide
- lead, and
- xylenes
The Environmental Compliance Approval with Limited Operational Flexibility (air & noise), when issued permits modifications to the facility subject to limits on operational flexibility that include a production limit for the facility to be specified on the Environmental Compliance Approval with Limited Operational Flexibility (air & noise). The Limited Operational Flexibility conditions have an expiry date. The company will be required to make an application for amendment at that time to renew these conditions.
