These new proposed rules weaken any oversight and protection of wildlife being trapped. There should be stricter rules rather than weakening the current regulations. There is no concrete evidence that these new rules will have any major economic benefit other than allowing trappers to do whatever they want without any oversight. These animals being trapped are key to the biodiversity in our province. These new rules would have a significant, negative impact on the biodiversity in our province. In a time where climate change is already wrecking havoc on our province and country, we need to be ensuring that we conserve our biodiversity. Please reconsider the weakening of the current regulations.
