The Oxford Coalition for Social Justice is aware of the need to update policies, procedures and practices related to aggregate extraction in Ontario, its impacts and consequences. We thank the MNRF for thinking this too.
The Oxford Coalition for Social Justice has read the comments by Gravel Watch Ontario and concurs with there observations and requests. Further, the Oxford Coalition for Social Justice is aware of the MNRF report which identifies that Ontario has over 100 of licensed aggregate in current pits and quarries. This leads us to suggest that Ontario needs a moratorium on any new sites for pits and quarries.
