I am very much opposed to the proposal to grant approval to sub-divide the property to this applicant. I am a camper on Upper Shebandowan Lake and know that this owner purchased the property well after the Shebandowan Lake Management Plan was adopted. He knew when he purchased the property that sub-dividing the property was contrary to the SLMP. If he intended to divide his property for his children, then he should not have purchased on Shebandowan Lake. Further, why does the proposal for approval state "where there is no official plan in place" when there is, in fact, the Shebandowan Lake Management Plan in place. A stated purpose of the plan is to protect the endangered Lake Trout population. His property is very near upper basin, where the Lake Management Plan identifies a protected Lake Trout population. For this application to be approved would be a direct violation of the SLMP. Upper Shebandowan water quality and fish habitat is already under threat by the proposed Waasigan Power Line which has received conditional approval to run adjacent to Three Mile Bay.
Thank you,
A concerned Upper Shebandowan camper.
