The language in this act is too subjective and therefore undemocratic. Democracies are built on checks and balances.' Giving disproportionate power to the 'opinion of the Minister' to make decisions without specified criteria is authoritarian and must be opposed.
It is in disagreement to the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, and, in particular, the duty to obtain free, prior and informed consent from Indigenous Peoples regarding initiation of projects.
