Comment
I wish to comment as a citizen of Ontario who is concerned about the threats to the future of our natural environment posed by the Government's intentions for Areas of Natural and Scientific Interest.
We have fought hard as citizens to preserve these irreplaceable territories and I strongly oppose the weakening of protections for them. The government's actions that have removed protections include the adjustment of the boundary of an ANSI near Port Hope /Garden Hill to satisfy a developer's request.
Protected areas in our province must continue to be preserved on behalf of future generations and for the well-being of our communities. Instead of weakening and removing protections for irreplaceable nature areas the Government of Ontario should be protecting more lands and waters, wetlands and species at risk.
