American eels are a vital part of our ecosystem and the decline in their population should be taken very seriously. Being from the eastern Ontario area, hearing that only 100 eels returned to Cornwall this past season is disheartening. The Americans Eel needs to be added to the endangered species list in order to ensure their survival.
