D.M. Wills Associates Limited (Wills) is pleased to submit the following letter on behalf of our Client, Jeff Fleischman of Suflap Land Co. Inc. (Client) with respect to the new County of Peterborough Official Plan (COP). Our client’s interest in the COP relates to their landholdings located on lands municipally known as 815 Sharpe Line (Subject Property) in the Township of Cavan-Monaghan (Township), in the County of Peterborough (County). The lands are legally described as Part Lot 11 and Part Lot 12, Concession 10, Cavan, in the Township of Cavan-Monaghan.

The purpose of this letter is to propose a settlement area expansion to the Hamlet of Ida, within the scope of the formal Municipal Comprehensive Review process. The purpose of this letter is to provide our comments and analysis of the proposed policy within the COP related to contributing to the growth and development of the region. The objective of these comments is to allow for a provision within the County OP that grants lower-tier municipalities the authority to consider expansions of their respective settlement area boundaries within the scope of their individual Municipal Comprehensive Review procedures. This initiative aims to streamline settlement boundary expansion requests by facilitating the process at the lower-tier level.
