Frightening Implications
Not only does this proposal present a danger to unknown archaeological sites and Ancestor burials, but it impacts even the recorded archaeological sites.
The Municipal Class Environmental Assessment Process must remain intact to ensure that municipalities meet their obligations under the Ontario Heritage Act.
We should be increasing and not decreasing the consultation with First Nations on development projects, and respecting their Treaty rights.
