The proposed changes to the MCEA process are poorly thought out in that they will lead to significant destruction without conservation of Ontario’s non-renewable archaeological resources. This will put proponents at significant risk of breaking the Ontario Heritage Act. It also demonstrates wanton disregard for Indigenous culture heritage and constitutional rights. Please do not proceed with the proposed changes.
