This proposal is terrible…

This proposal is terrible. The drafted policy was and always will be terrible from the moment it was created with the intent to push through projects created by Ontario ministers with little to no oversight for the environment, without consultation of our First Nations communities, and without the long term interest of the next 7 generations of Ontarians at heart. We complained loud and clear, so you updated the draft policy to push through Indigenous consultations with some groups in a way that is clearly disingenuous and decided to deliberately not request consultations with other Indigenous groups.

As someone who lives in the Niagara West riding and who has had a conservative MP and MPP for years and years, I’m deeply disappointed in Doug Ford’s government and their abysmal track record of doing whatever you want, trying to cover up the tracks, and pushing through proposals where the interest of our environment and the Indigenous stewards of our land, to whom we owe so much more than mere dignity and deference to their methods of treating the beautiful province of Ontario, are rejected in a way that is unconstitutional and should be downright criminal. The people of Ontario will not stand for this nonsense. We will not back down when you propose terrible ideas that will make life more unliveable in the present and future. I have a 4-year-old niece and a 7-year-old nephew, and I have to stand up for them and their best interests as well as their great, great, great grandchildren.

If you neglect the environment and the best interests of current and future generations, then the utter devastation that is sure to come will be on your hands, and the guilt and shame of being responsible for this travesty will be felt by the next 7+ generations of your own families.
