This bill supposed to help, not destroy people's lives.

If a single battery or electric vehicle is produced from the ring of fire raw materials, under the disguise of supporting climate mitigation, and then harms the environment and Indigenous people more, the bill simply failed and made things worse.

If the environment is destroyed impacting aquifers, biodiversity or climate change, people will be hurt and the economic short-term gains will never be able to make up for the loss incurred.

If Indigenous people are displaced, lose their cultural, or foraging grounds, they do not only deserve beyond fair compensation but also the right to prior and informed consent.

So who is benefitting from this bill other than mining corporations if the vast majority of the electorate and the environment won't?

Please reinsert environmental standards and the need for Indigenous prior and informed consent or the Greenbelt scandal (see link provided) will simply repeat itself.
