I would like to comment that…

I would like to comment that the draft policy does not include a framework of who or how oversight will be provided. Regulations will or will not be provided depending on what is needed as stated by whom? Who is accountable for developing these? Industry seems to be accountable to no one after given the green light. Who will oversee how destructive to the environment they actually are? What lines can they cross before licences are pulled. The resources belong to the people of Ontario entrusting the government to protect it for them. Our most precious resource, water and how it will be used or destroyed by industries is not discussed at all. I don’t believe the people of Ontario agreed to this happening with their water or waterways. How will industries be dealt with if they destroy our resources? Any penalties? Who will provide the cleanup if required? Taxpayers? I hope not. I hope this is spelled out in writing ahead of projects being approved. I am left wondering who is looking out for Ontario taxpayers?
