Creating these zones is nothing but a way to bypass the democratic rights of the people of Ontario, to allow yourself to turn a blind eye to indigenous rights, and to eradicate environmental protections that keep our land, our watersheds (and your people!) healthy. The people voted for you to protect our best interests, both short term AND long. Your constituents are not idiots. We know there is usable land for development, and we also know that our housing issues are not due to a lack of ultra-expensive subdivisions. The creation of these special economic development zones serves few, and is nothing but a boon to your buddies.
