Enabling developers to ignore municipal and provincial laws is DETRIMENTAL to Ontario’s eco-health, and the health of Ontarians. Endangered species and the environment need protection. "Special Economic Zones" roll back hard-won efforts to maintain a sustainable environment under the guise of protection from financial threats.

It curtails Indigenous consultation by ending archeological assessment requirements, regressing on the government’s obligations to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s 94 Calls to Action.
