We are moving forward with regulatory changes that will require proponents to self-register more types of waste management systems online. These changes will make it easier for the waste management sector to obtain environmental permissions and begin operations faster, while continuing to protect human health and the environment.
The government has made legislative changes to the Planning Act and City of Toronto Act, 2006 through the Protect Ontario by Building Faster and Smarter Act, 2025 (Bill 17).
The Minister has approved amendments to the Grand River Source Protection Plan, including the Assessment Report, to update the protection area and threats assessments for Lynden Municipal Drinking Water System within the City of Hamilton.
