Recently Ontario has been going backwards on protecting wild life and giving into demands from a minority group. I appreciate as a member of the public and Ontario citizen this forum to provide comment.
The Government MUST provide scientific documentation, environmental impact assessments, and data to support ALL claims.
I would like to see this public comment period extended.
Laws around trapping need to prioritize animal welfare and should be informed by current, peer-reviewed science.
Animal welfare should trump this need to desire for fur trade. There is no oversight on if rules are followed.
Animals (beavers) struggle already and are important part of our ecosystem, I do not want to see that impacted at all.
Traps can be irresponsibly used and cruel, pets have been caught
I do not support these proposed changes to the current regulation
