I am pleased to see the government guaranteeing public ownership of water/wastewater corporations. However, these corporations should not exist at all. Water should remain an entirely public service meant for the public good. Profits should not factor into the equation. In addition how is the 'public sector' being defined for the purposes of these changes? And is there any evidence of WWPCs lowering development costs? Similar examples, like the switch to the OEB, show rates skyrocketing. How is this in the public interest? Changes like this require supporting evidence, which I hope the province actually has. Please explicitly explain the concrete benefits of the WWPC model. Not 'may do this or that' but actual data supported evidence.
