Fully support these changes. In order for these utilities to run efficiently and effectively, an executive role with net cost impact group needs to be created to lead continuous improvement, efficiency and innovation. There are hundreds of Ontario made and born water/ wastewater technologies that have encountered significant barriers to adoption here in Ontario due to lack of these mandates.
These companies have successfully demonstrated their performance and adoption outside Canada and we are lagging so far behind on adopting new technology and solution.
Optimization and Intensification, increases and frees up much needed W/WW treatment capacity by upto 50% enabling to build houses faster than building and expanding the plant.
A formal mandate for generating 15% efficiency annually must be provided to these new to be formed utilities.
