It is not responsible to sacrifice the safeguards the maintain our watershed and the health of our environment for making a quick buck. There is no reason to fast track construction for projects that have not had proper public oversight and do not contribute to the betterment of society. Sacrificing the environment to pave a parking lot quicker is not sustainable.

Changes that affect our watershed need to be properly evaluated for environmentally assessment. There must be assurances that bridges, roadworks, and parking lots do not cause damage. How does the Ontario government propose to protect the Redside Dace and other endangered species that will be affected by this ill planned change?

These changes to environmental protections bills are unwanted by all Ontarians. We will continue to fight against a rapid ill planned highway that does nothing but line pockets, force Canadians further away from population centres, and damage our environment and the health of our population.
