I strongly oppose this legislation. Reducing environmental assessment requirements for major construction projects will cause untold harm to the benefit of developers and construction companies. I hope that while you are streamlining Municipal EAs, you are simultaneously creating EAs that need to be completed for developers and private land owners!! Why should they be able to do whatever they want to the fragile ecosystem that they own???

I am very concerned about this process being revoked. This feels like a way to circumvent proper environmental investigation and community consultation. Highway 413 comes to mind, a project that has had HUGE backlash and opposition which the current government is deciding to ignore. Lire davantage

I am strongly opposed to this proposed change in regulation. Future generations will pay for the environmental impacts that will result. Solving the housing crisis requires planning that doesn't just create more problems elsewhere. Let's not encourage municipalities to make poor long-term decisions.
