This change is exactly what it sounds like, a way to cut corners that does not benefit anyone but the developers, with no care to what could be impacted by these changes. Yes progress and growth needs to happen to keep our civilization thriving, but it does not need to come at the cost of environment and cultural destruction to benefit a few.
