Through our comments on the ERO posting, the City will be looking for guidance from the Province on the following:

• How engagement with Indigenous Communities will be fulfilled for infrastructure projects that do not follow the MPAP process.
• How land expropriation will be initiated for infrastructure projects that do not follow the MPAP process
• New processes will be necessary to replace the previous Class EA Process which are expected to be completed through municipal Planning Act authority. How will increasing development review timelines streamline and support the City’s commitment to advancing critical projects to achieve our Housing Pledge?
• If a project is to be assumed by a municipality, then should they not be the same evaluation process regardless of whether it is constructed by a Developer or by a municipality?
