This new proposal will be cutting corners in development and is HIGHLY CONCERNING.
The Municipal Class Environmental Assessment Process should not be eliminated. It will leave archaeological heritage including Ancestor burials unprotected.
Further, reducing costs for private developments should not come ahead of Treaty rights, which this proposal will be doing. We should not be REDUCING the amount of consultation with First Nations on development projects.
Respect the wishes of the First Nations whom have already spoken out against these amendments. Do not put cultural heritage or the rights of Indigenous communities at risk.
