Save the eels. This plant can not afford to lose another one of its species.  Its sad that we have such an in pact on a species that it is totally wiped of the earth for ever!! I wish humans were on this plant to take care of it in stead of destoring it.

the draft statement still does not set out immediate and clear requirements for the recovery of the species in Ontario, and instead proposes another three years of planning.

Please act to save this once-bountiful creature. When species disappear from our ecosystems, the consequences can be dire.

American Eel are an important part of Ontario’s ecosystems. Clearly an immediate action is needed to ensure that they are not lost from Ontario. The government response statement outlines a good path forward for research and planning, but it fails to call for sufficient short-term actions.

 American eels are a vital part of our ecosystem and the decline in their population should be taken very seriously. Being from the eastern Ontario area, hearing that only 100 eels returned to Cornwall this past season is disheartening.

I think that the government response statement outlines a good path forward for research and planning regarding long-term action, but it fails to call for sufficient short-term actions. There needs to be some revisions to some of the Actions reflect this.

The American Eel was one of the most interesting species of fish that I was able to assist in researching during my previous employment with MNRF. Learning of this species life cycle provided a clear understanding of the difficult journey they face.

American Eel are an important part of Ontario’s ecosystems and Canada's biodiversity. It is the responsibility of the provincial government to safeguard this species at risk against becoming lost altogether from our waters.

Due to the drastic decline of American eels in Ontario as documented at the ladder at Moses Saunders dam, an immediate action is needed to ensure that they are not lost from Ontario.
