This story is really typical of the attitudes of government to the natural world -- with all the knowledge to solve this potential problem the authorities do not consult those who could warn and suggest solutions to an environmental problem ... keep up the good work!

When I heard about this story I believed that I'd have to speak up for American Eel populations in Ontario that have decreased by 99% in recent years.

Time is of the essence for the threatened eel population.

  Please revise Action 7 to require specific and immediate reductions in the mortality of adult eels as they migrate through hydropower facilities.

We need to start taking responsibility to the environment we live in. That includes ensuring the lives of the animals we affect through dam building have options to get around them. It maybe inconvenient but it is an ethical responsibility.
