How could a "trusted proponent" be considered trustworthy if they are not committed to the duty to obtain free, prior and informed consent from Indigenous Peoples regarding the initiation of a project?

These "special economic zones" give chosen developers, and people with money the power to completely ignore environmental laws. At a time when we are in a climate crisis, and biodiversity crisis, this makes no sense. The environment needs to be at the forefront of all decisions.
