I firmly OBJECT to this BILL 5 for the following reasons: SEZs can be declared anywhere in Ontario if Cabinet believes that area is “economically significant or strategically important” and “no larger than necessary”. Lire davantage

I am a very concerned voter for the following reasons: Ontario’s environment and communities deserve better. The Special Economic Zones framework leaves our province’s air, land, and water at the mercy of political discretion — not the law. Lire davantage

I would like to comment that the draft policy does not include a framework of who or how oversight will be provided. Regulations will or will not be provided depending on what is needed as stated by whom? Who is accountable for developing these? Lire davantage

The lands need to be protected at all costs. The indigenous people need and deserve to have a say as to what happens to the land. The government needs to work with the people and not treat the land as they want to. To much is at state. Work with the people.

There should be NO special treatment for economic development that excludes proper and thorough environmental impact assessment. Areas previously designated as “ protected” , such as wetlands, parks, woodlands, should remain protected from development. Lire davantage

I strongly, adamantly oppose and condemn the Special Economic Zones framework because it falsely masquerades as strengthening the province's economy in the absence of "pesky governmental restrictions" while opening the floodgates for blatant corruption, where the premier and provincial government ge Lire davantage

Sounds TOTALLY UNDEMOCRATIC! No checks and balances. Insufficient knowledge of the long term effects of concreting food producing land…with global warming affects on USA supplies we need to be growing our own food. Lire davantage

The Special Economic Zones are NOT in Ontario’s best interest. They leave our province, our water, our air, and our land at INCREASED risk, and they take away protections for our health, our safety, and our DEMOCRACY. This is not the U.S. -- it's Canada. Lire davantage

I strongly oppose this special economic zone framework! It opens the floodgates for corruption and is not subjected to proper regulations! This proposal endangers the environment and indigenous people and the people of Ontario!

Ontario’s environment and communities deserve better. The Special Economic Zones framework leaves our province’s air, land, and water at the mercy of political discretion — not the law. The Ford government’s plan puts Ontarians’ health, safety, and democracy at risk. Lire davantage

I have strong concerns about this legislation. Namely, these zones can be declared anywhere and possibility could be the entire province without any oversight. Also, there are no independent bodies to provide accountability to these "zones" and we are simply trust the people deemed by the Minister. Lire davantage

I have significant concerns about the Special Economic Zones Act, 2025 (Bill 5), which gives the Ontario government sweeping powers to override environmental protections, exempt hand-picked companies from laws, and sideline Indigenous voices within “Special Economic Zones” (SEZs) — in the name of “e Lire davantage

What is the point of having meaningful regulations and protections if a government can change those protections for self interest? Is it not why regulations are made? To prevent such an overreach? Lire davantage

Consult indigenous voices. Restore democracy. Get rid of this ridiculous bill. If you actually listened to any of the comments and the protests you would hear the outcry of people pleading for this bill to be reversed and to prioritize the environment and the health of ontarians. Lire davantage
