I have strong concerns about this legislation. Namely, these zones can be declared anywhere and possibility could be the entire province without any oversight. Also, there are no independent bodies to provide accountability to these "zones" and we are simply trust the people deemed by the Minister. Read more

I have significant concerns about the Special Economic Zones Act, 2025 (Bill 5), which gives the Ontario government sweeping powers to override environmental protections, exempt hand-picked companies from laws, and sideline Indigenous voices within “Special Economic Zones” (SEZs) — in the name of “e Read more

Consult indigenous voices. Restore democracy. Get rid of this ridiculous bill. If you actually listened to any of the comments and the protests you would hear the outcry of people pleading for this bill to be reversed and to prioritize the environment and the health of ontarians. Read more
