The SFD fiasco is the last straw in proving that we cannot trust Doug Ford or his government. The “economic zones” will be yet another shakedown in the style of Ford’s idol Donald Trump. Like the latter, nothing of Ford’s obvious abuses seem to stick.

The language in this act is too subjective and therefore undemocratic. Democracies are built on checks and balances.' Giving disproportionate power to the 'opinion of the Minister' to make decisions without specified criteria is authoritarian and must be opposed. Read more

I have serious concerns about the Special Economic Zones, mostly around the lack of safeguards. Rushing to start and complete projects must never be executed without considered input from expertise and community members who would be most impacted and without due respect for the environment.
