I am entirely against creating special economic zones that put the power to override laws and procedures into the hands of ministers. I find this hazardous and anti-democratic.

This is just a terrible idea for future generations. We need to protect what's left our nature in Ontario, to stabilize Earth's climate, to prevent acidification of the oceans, and to stop polluting. Clearly, the business-as-usual approach is unable to do this. Just stop!!!!

This does not affirm indigenous rights and they don't ensure that risk management is essential to these SEZs and they will be extremely effective. And there is no one independent who can assess if trusted proponents have a good record on environmental compliance.

I don't believe that special economic zones legislation is necessary. To me, it is a trampling on the rights of the citizens of Ontario to make billionaires more wealthy. The projects that we really need are not the ones that will be lobbied for.
