This proposal to streamline environmental assessments is simply a way to cut corners with private developers and does not take into account the damage it would have to the environment and archaeological record of Ontario. Lire davantage

The purpose of this bill is not to streamline anything for the sake of speeding up the response to the housing crisis, its purpose is to enable private developers to cut corners in order to minimize their monetary investment prior to a project commencing. Lire davantage

Yet another example of the Ford government trying to do things the easy way instead of the right way. I mean, come on. Lire davantage

This change is exactly what it sounds like, a way to cut corners that does not benefit anyone but the developers, with no care to what could be impacted by these changes. Lire davantage

This is a terrible proposal. Do not revoke the MCEA and private sector developers regulation. This will not only take jobs away from Ontario residents, it is extremely disrespectful to the Indigenous communities. The Ford government has done enough negative things to Ontario. Lire davantage

I'm concerned this change will not provide sufficient protection for archaeological heritage and ancestor burials, nor will it result in proper consultation with First Nations on development projects. Lire davantage

I am appalled that this government would commit such an ignorant and malicious rollback of protection to Indigenous heritage in the face of TRC Calls to Action. Lire davantage

I am concerned for the Archeology sector in Ontario. If you didn’t already know, in Ontario, all infrastructure projects require archeologists to clear the site after searching for of any significant artifacts or human remains. Lire davantage

This change is beyond inappropriate. It flies in the face of reconciliation with indigenous communities and is not in line with many treaties and international conventions. It Canadian heritage must be known to be protected for us and for future generations. Lire davantage

Wanted to say that I support these new regulations. They will certainly streamline the building of much needed public infrastructure and housing. Building rapid transit around dense housing quicker would be a huge win for both affordability and for the environment. Lire davantage

This policy is a piece of a long-standing colonialist attitude Canada has had and not truly made up for. Despite all the posturing and truth and reconciliation, indigenous people are still impressed and there are no material benefits being given to them. This is horrendous and I do not support it.
